Jason Mock is a leading expert on instructional design practices for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and traditional online courses in higher education. He designed two nationally award-winning online courses and leads the MOOC course development efforts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Illinois), United States. MOOC provider Coursera uses Mr. Mock’s courses as exemplars for other university partners. Mr. Mock is a nationally and internationally invited speaker on the topics of education and technology. Mr. Mock has worked in online education spaces for over 12 years in corporate, U.S. military, and higher education spaces. He holds a Bachelor's in physics and a Master's in education, both from Illinois. Currently, he is the Assistant Director for Educational Innovation at the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning at Illinois. There, he directs the instructional design team and coordinates campus' MOOC portfolio. He is also an adjunct faculty at the University of Dayton in Ohio, U.S., teaching online classes about using Web 2.0 technologies to secondary education teachers.
